  • Flexibility
  • Coordination
  • Weight loss & Toning

Many of the Pilates exercises are performed on your back, emphasizing body symmetry and core abdominal control. Pilates will improve your:

  • Posture
  • Balance
  • Focus
  • Energy

Never be bored with over 500 exercises to progress from. Improve your Golf, Tennis Game or any sport. Add new grace and vitality to the way you move.

Joseph H. Pilates created this unique, safe and effective method of exercise that creates long, lean, strong muscles. Joseph Pilates came from Germany in 1926 and landed in New York City. Joseph was a gymnast who had creative and brilliant ideas about physical fitness and rehabilitation. While in England when WWI broke out, he was incarcerated in a German National Prison camp. Influenza broke out and Joseph developed many ways to stay healthy and rehab the sick. Joseph rigged a hospital bed with pulleys and springs so patients could begin their recovery while lying on their backs. This idea evolved into the Cadillac, which later became one of Pilates main pieces of equipment design.
As a child, Joseph Pilates suffered from a number of illnesses resulting in muscular weakness. He was determined to overcome these frailties and started studying Yoga, Martial Arts, Zen Meditation, Greek and Roman exercises.

During the 1930's and 40's, famous dance instructors and choreographers, such as Martha Graham and George Balanchine embraced Pilates method. If injured, performers and dancers usually suffered from long recovery periods.

Unique to their time, Pilates method allowed and encouraged movement early in the rehabilitation process which helped with healing. It wasn't long before the dance community adopted Pilates work into their routines for strengthening and alignment.

More than 70 years later, many rehabilitation practitioners were using  the Pilates method. Utilizing specialized equipment, the springs and pulleys helped to facilitate injured individuals to complete certain movements successfully. By altering spring tension and creating more gravity challenges, an individual would progress toward achieving functional movement.

Pilates Class Offerings:

We keep our mat classes small, but because you will never have 100% of an instructor's attention in a group setting, it is highly recommended that someone new to Pilates or new to a Pilates studio setting take 5-10 private sessions before joining an ongoing mat class.

Open Level Pilates Mat
This class open to all levels of students. The teacher will make modifications for students as necessary.Pilates Binghamton, NY

Private Pilates lessons
A private session with a Pilates instructor. One on one lesson, using mat, props, the Tower, Wunda Chair and Cadillac.

Tower Class
This class utilizes the wall unit with spring attachments (called "The Tower")
Tower Classes combine the Pilates mat work with apparatus in a small group setting. We use arm springs, leg springs, the roll back bar and push through bar throughout the mat workout. Tower class is a great addition to private sessions or mat classes to supplement your weekly workouts!

If you are a new client to our studio we require that you take at least one private session (but would suggest 5-10) before attending a Tower Class. Because we do not want the class to be held back and most importantly we do not want anyone to get injured or we feel it is important for us to see where you are at when we are able to give you 100% of our attention. Reservations are required for Tower Classes as they are limited to 3 people. 24 hour cancellation policy does apply.

Mat Tower Chair
This is an apparatus class. We will utilize the mat, wall tower, and chair. Too much fun!!

PiYo
PiYo is a total-body fitness system designed to whip you into shape from head to toe. It combines the muscle-sculpting, core-firming benefits of Pilates and yoga to help you build strength, lose weight, increase flexibility and have a great time doing it.

Pilates Barre
Barre combines ballet with Pilates. Barre uses small, isometric movements targeting specific muscle groups of the chest, arms, thighs, buttocks and abs.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Open level we will be moving along with the breath to create a strong, rhythmic and meditative experience. All levels welcome

Can't find a class that works for your schedule? If there are 4 or more people interested in a time, we will start a new class for you.

Scheduling:

are committed to smaller, more intimate classes, allowing for individual attention from instructor to student. Our class sizes are usually limited to up to ten students in a Pilates mat class, or up to four in Pilates Equipment classes. Our classes are often filled on a “first come, first served” basis, which can result in a waiting list for those classes which fill first. Our goal is to serve as many students as possible, and this is where our scheduling policy comes in.

The scheduling policy is to have each student sign up in advance for classes, and payment is due when the classes are scheduled. Cash or check are the payments we are currently accepting, and those payments can be handled at the beginning of the series of classes, or mailed ahead of time. Because we realize that not every student can make it to every class, we do ask that we be given 24 hours notice if the student is unable to attend a scheduled class. This will do two things, first, the student will not be charged for the class they didn’t take, and second, a student on the waiting list can then be contacted and the class can be filled. We do understand there may be emergency situations that arise, and those will be assessed on a case by case basis.

Specials, Pricing, and Discounts

We are committed to providing our clients with affordable education in a warm, relaxing and safe environment. Clients will find our pricing to be very competitive with other similar service offerings throughout our region. We reserve the right to exclude special programs, workshops, or introductory offers from use with coupons and/or other discounts. We make every effort to communicate this on all pricing sheets as appropriate, however an instructor or service provider ultimately has the final say on if a coupon or discount may be applied to a class, program, or service. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Natasha Freeman
Natasha Freeman

Movement and physical exercise has always been a part of Natasha’s life. Throughout her childhood and teenage years she was involved in ballet and gymnastics. In her young adult to adult years she found herself gravitating more towards horseback riding, running, Pilates and yoga. She learned that the best way for her quiet the mind is to challenge the body.

In the fall of 2006, Natasha enrolled in a 6 week Pilates program with Jennifer Youngs, where she grew to love the classical fundamentals that Joseph Pilates created. The core strengthening and the way her body felt after a lesson kept her coming back. In 2012, Natasha ventured down to Philadelphia and obtained her Pilates Certification.

The fast pace of her daily life made her realize the importance of finding balance and making time to slow down, both mentally and physically. In 2013, Natasha began establishing a solid yoga practice for herself. Through yoga, she was able to create space for a more balanced lifestyle; she was able to calm down, release anxiety, fear, and insecurities, allowing her to be the best version of herself.

Natasha completed her 200-hour teacher training through Twin Cities Collective at Organic Yoga in February, 2016.  She believes if you’re willing to step onto your mat and let it be a safe place, yoga will transform every part of your life. It is Natasha’s goal as a teacher, to create an encouraging environment for you to be yourself, to let go of self-judgment and doubt and to trust the process. Natasha constantly reminds herself and her students to be lighthearted, to be playful and joyful, to not take life so seriously and not to sweat the little things, they are all little things. We have so many little moments in this life, enjoy them.

Natasha loves traveling, hiking, camping, spending quality time with her family; boyfriend, Cory and their puppies, Sprout and Henry.
